Because HMRC are rolling in their Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes. So far this applies to VAT submissions, and it will be extended to account submissions. You yourself are not required to make the submissions; an accountant can still do this for you. It means that the way invoices and expenses are recorded are required to be on cloud software. For a training session you should have the computer you intend to work on for data entry, a log in account for your chosen software (if we haven't helped you set one up), income invoices and expense receipts and invoices. It's useful to have a variety of expense types to see the small differences in coding and treatment. A notepad and pen for notes on the process is also recommended.We will point out other features in the software that you can use to track the progress of your business, so there is more to the training than just data entry. We will show you how to view and understand a balance sheet and trial balance, and go through the steps to set you up for VAT submissions via the software.
